Standard 6: Engage in professional learning
Focus Area: Standard 6.3 Engage with colleagues and improve practice
Evidence collected from my final report which demonstrates how I met standard 6.3.
Reflection:
During my practicum at Mawarra Public School, I was fortunate enough to not only have a mentor teacher who was extremely knowledgeable but also who was happy to share that knowledge and insight of teaching with me. Each day I would ask my mentor teacher questions and seek advice and feedback in order to help improve my quality of teaching. I would constantly reflect back on the constructive feedback that she provided me with, and I tried to implement it into my future lesson to help improve my teaching practices.
During my practicum I continuously engaged in conversations with various other teachers and supervisors in order to maximise my learning experience. I would engage with other colleagues by visiting their classrooms so I could experience their different teaching styles and behavioural management strategies to later apply them within my classroom.

The above documents are from my lesson feedback sheet. They demonstrate how I deeply reflected upon the feedback given to me and how I effectively applied it in my next lesson. Each day my mentor teacher would go through my feedback sheet with me and explain areas of the lesson that she thought I did well, or strategies which she thought were effective, she would then suggest areas that I could improve on. This was extremely valuable to me as I wanted to give the students the best quality teaching I could. By listening and implementing her advice and feedback, I started to notice a huge positive change within the classroom.
